AlmerBackup v 3.5

Overview of AlmerBackup - backup program for Windows

We all know the problems lost data can create. There are many different reasons data can get lost: errors in the software, an operating system crash, etc. Restoring data is a process that often loses data, just by restoring an incorrect version. Many files are impossible to replace, like your family photoalbum or database. We are told to backup our files frequently, yet the backup tools we are given are clumsy and unreliable.

Recognizing this need, we created AlmerBackup, a powerful backup tool you can virtually set and forget, that reliably copies your files to a safe place and keeps track of all changes to those files.

AlmerBackup is a backup program for Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT4/XP, that can be trusted to safeguard your important files. AlmerBackup can be set to backup your files automatically on a schedule in background mode, without your having to be there. You customize your AlmerBackup one time and all of your data will be safe from any software glitches, hardware failure or even power outages.

AlmerBackup can do the usual actions expected of backup software, such as: scheduled backups and archival backups to compressed formats. But, it can also backup to other resources on a network, backup to virtually all types of removable devices, and incremental backups of revisions with comprehensive history tracking. Some of the many types of devices supported are: floppy disks, hard drives, network drives, Zip drives, JAZ drives, SyQuest drives and most of other removable devices.

AlmerBackup can be set to automatically back up a set of files at system startup, system shutdown or to back up a set of files at a certain time of day and particular day or days of the week. A log file is kept that records all of AlmerBackup's actions as a further safeguard against losing your essential data files.
